Arbaaz Khan Finally Opens Up On His Divorce With Malaika Arora: “Everything Seemed Fine But It Crumbled”
While speaking about his spilt with Malaika Arora, Arbaaz Khan said, ‘everything seemed fine but it crumbled’
Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora legally ended their marriage after 21 years, in 2017. The couple, who got married in 1998, announced their separation in March 2016 and was granted divorce in May 2017. Since then, the couple has moved on with their respective lives and are co-parenting their 15-year-old son, Arhaan. Recently, Arbaaz Khan once again opened up on his spilt with his ex-wife Malaika. He has said that while ‘everything seemed fine’, things didn’t work out.
While speaking to Good Times, Arbaaz said, ““Everything seemed fine but it crumbled. Things don’t work out, and it’s only fair that two people who want to take their life in their own hands will take that decision.” Further, when he was asked if he still believes in the institution of marriage and recommend it to others, he said, “Of course, I would. This institution has gone on for hundreds and thousands of years. It’s like if you know that you’re going to die, you won’t stop living. Of course, the times are changing, even in the past people didn’t get married.”
Well, this is not the first time Arbaaz has spoken on his divorce with Malaika. Earlier, while speaking to Zoom TV the actor had said that he tried to keep his marriage going--- but couldn’t succeed. He had told the channel, “Human beings would still want (more) and you also have people who say I couldn't have asked for a better woman or a better wife, I am so happy. Yes, those scenarios also exist. But, perfection is something that is a constant thing you need to achieve. It is not that you have achieved it and it's gonna stay. It's everyday hard work...to continue to be where you have to be. So that happens in relationships also. I tried for 21 years but I couldn't succeed in one aspect but theek hai (that's okay). It's alright. Not many people even try that long.”
On the personal front, Malaika is expected to soon walk down the aisle with Arjun Kapoor, while Arbaaz has confirmed his relationship with a certain Giorgia Andriani.
